I’m all about one pot meals but add in the fact that my kids lick their plates clean every time I make this and you’ve got yourself a winner. This one pot dinner is pretty much a weekly staple in our house and one that we all love. It’s not a traditional stroganoff but plays off of those flavors while utilizing the east of just frying up some ground beef instead of using beef chunks.

We don’t have a dairy free household since I think I wouldn’t last the week without cheese in my life but my husband has an aversion to a ton of dairy so I try to substitute where I can. We are also huge on using mostly whole foods in our house and don’t often use canned condensed soups or spice mixes so this recipe uses only whole food ingredients but it doesn’t lack any flavor at all!
Let’s talk ingredients.

This recipe only has a few ingredients in it and most of them are seasonings. While I usually season with my heart and soul, I tried to get an accurate measurement of what I use in this. I highly encourage you to season to your taste as well!
Instructions
- Brown your ground beef in a large deep saute pan with the seasonings listed. Feel free to use your favorite pot instead, I’ll link my favorites in my equipment section!
- While your meat is browning, chop up your garlic and onions – keep them separate.
- Remove the meat when it’s nicely browned and add in a touch more oil or butter and saute your onions until they’re translucent. Add in your garlic and cook until fragrant (only for a few minutes here, burnt garlic is the worst).
- Add back in your meat and add in the dijon and Worcestershire sauce. Here’s where you want to deglaze your pan – that’s where you utilize the Worcestershire sauce to get all the little bits up from the bottom of the pan – that’s all flavor that you want in your dish!
- Add in your pasta, beef broth, and water and bring to a simmer. Here’s where I season a little more with some salt and pepper and anything else my heart tells me to use. Cover and let simmer stirring often until the pasta is cooked and most of the liquid has been soaked up.
- Remove from the heat and add in your sour cream and Parmesan cheese and stir to combine.
- Serve with a sprinkle of parm and some fresh chopped parsley!

Equipment I Use
Let’s get to the recipe!
Ground Beef Stroganoff Pasta
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion
- 2-3 cloves garlic
- 1 32oz jar beef bone broth
- 8oz water more if needed
- 1 tbsp dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
- ⅓ cup sour cream or greek yogurt
- 1 cup fresh grated parmesan cheese
- 1 lb pasta
Seasonings
- salt & pepper to taste
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp Italian herb seasoning
Instructions
- Add oil to a deep saute pan (or pot) and brown ground beef on medium high heat. Add in all seasonings listed.
- While the ground beef browns, chop your onion and garlic cloves.
- Remove the beef from the pan and add in a touch more oil or butter. Leave all the little bits from the beef – we'll deglaze the pan later to get all that goodness up.
- Add in onions and saute until they're soft and translucent – about 10 minutes. Add in your garlic and saute for a few minutes until fragrant.
- Add back the ground beef and add in dijon mustard. Deglaze the pan with Worcestershire sauce and get all the little bits off the bottom of the pot.
- Add in pasta and beef broth and 8 oz of water. If the liquid doesn't cover the pasta add in a bit more until it just covers everything. Put the lid on and bring to a simmer. Stir often so pasta doesn't stick to the pan. Let cook until most of the liquid has soaked up and the pasta is tender – around 20 minutes.
- Remove the pan from the heat and add in your sour cream and parmesan cheese and mix well.
- Serve with a sprinkle of parm and some fresh chopped parsley! Enjoy!
