Homemade Vanilla Pudding
Silky smooth, rich, and delicious!

- 5 egg yolks
- ¾ cup cane sugar
- ½ tsp salt
- 3 tsp vanilla paste
- 5 cups whole milk
- 6 tbsp corn starch a little over ¼ cup
- 2 tbsp butter
Combine egg yolks, sugar, milk, salt and corn starch into a heavy bottom sauce pot. Set on stove to medium heat.
Mixing constantly heat the mixture until it starts to bubble and thicken. Once bubbling, continue to cook for 2 minutes stirring constantly but not too vigorously.
Remove from the heat and stir in the butter and vanilla paste.
If you want a very silky smooth pudding - put it through a fine mesh sieve but it's optional!
Cover with plastic wrap and put in the refrigerator until completely cooled.
