My Story

My name is Sherilyn and I grew up in Holmes County Ohio in the heart of Amish Country. I come from the Amish on all sides and my family was Amish for a while before leaving the church and joining the Mennonite Community. So that’s how I grew up! Looking back on it, it was such a cool way to be brought up. So much culture surrounding family, faith, and yes of course – food! I grew up watching and helping my mom and grandma bake, cook, garden, and can food. I also grew up witnessing what a true village looks like. Whenever someone in the community had a need, it was met and met graciously, without needing reciprocation. That’s something that has been missing or at the very least hard to find in this day. I always wanted to be a mom and do things like my mom did. Homemade and heartfelt with my own little pizazz. I was a huge tomboy growing up so it would only be fitting that after moving and meeting the love of my life I’d end up with three little sons!

Me, my husband, and our three little dudes (all under 5) now live in Tennessee and we own and operate a small bakery. My husband runs the day to day at the bakery now so I can be at home with our boys. I love being able to create a home for them as they learn and grow and I hope to instill in them the values of faith, love, and hard work that I learned growing up. My goal with this website is to help bring a little version of a village for those that have none.
